I recently learned about an effort to recall the current District Attorney, initiated by a local community member who tragically lost her son and disagrees with the DA’s handling of the case.
As a parent myself, losing a child is the most unimaginable tragedy any family could face. My heart goes out to the victim’s family and friends. I cannot comment on the filing decision as I had no involvement in reviewing the facts and evidence in this case.
In recent media coverage, my opponent's office stated that this is “a politically backed effort in the lead up to November.” I want to be clear, this is not politically motivated. No one in my campaign, or any other political organizations that I'm aware of, are behind this recall effort. This recall is driven by a grieving mother.
My focus remains steady on being an advocate for victims, supporting those impacted by crime, and seeking justice. I encourage others to speak up and share their stories. Your voice deserves to be heard.
As elections around the state and nation heat up this year, there’s going to be a lot of political noise. I’m not here for politics. I’m here for you, for your family, victims, and for public safety.
